Questions
Announcements and events: common questions
Do parents need an app?
No. Announcements and events arrive by email, and a secure link opens them in the phone’s browser. Parents can add the portal to their home screen if they like.
Can I send a message to one class only?
Yes. You can send to the whole school, to one class or to one family.
Does it replace our WhatsApp group?
Many schools keep WhatsApp for quick chats. HiDay keeps the official notices, events and replies in one place, with a record of what was sent.
Can I publish a weekly menu?
Yes. Publish the menu for the week, and record what each child actually ate in the daily report.
Is communication part of Daily Reports?
The daily report email and parent portal are in Daily Reports. Announcements, events and the shared calendar are part of the Full Suite.
